“Dune: Part Two” was an absolute hit among fantasy fans, both in Poland and around the world. The production hit theaters just three weeks ago, and so far it has already earned $500 million. Denis Villeneuve announced that he would like to start work on the next part, but for this to happen, one condition must be met.
Denis Villeneuve is planning the 3rd part of “Dune”. First, he wants to meet one condition
In an interview with Empire magazine, Denis Villeneuve admitted that both parts of “Dune” were shot in quick succession. According to the director, the most sensible thing would be to make sure that the next film exceeds the success of the previous one. “Let’s make sure we have a strong script first. I want to avoid not having something ready. I’ve never done it, and now I feel like it might be dangerous because of the enthusiasm… If I ever make ‘Messiah of Dune, this is why that it will be better than ‘Part Two’. Otherwise I won’t do it,” he said.
Denis Villeneuve mentioned that the third part of “Dune” would appear in cinemas even before the second film appeared. The director said then that he was working on a script for the third production. He was also confident that “Dune: Part Two” would be a greater success than the previous one: “There’s something more alive about it. There’s a connection with the characters. I tried to achieve an intensity and quality of emotion that I didn’t achieve in ‘Part One,’ and which I managed to achieve in ‘Part Two’. It is also known that we would see Florence Pugh and Lea Seydoux again in the next film. Villeneuve admitted that although both actresses received slightly less engaging roles in the second part of ‘Dune’, in the next film, he would like to use the potential of their characters.
