However, she was not going to give up without a fight, and her husband did everything he could to help her. When the emotions subsided, they began to collect information about the disease, looking for methods and effective treatments. Bieniuk decided to consult the diagnosis with other specialists. During his visit to one of the doctors at the Medical Academy, he was accompanied by a friend whose support turned out to be indispensable after what he heard in the office. – The doctor told us that Ania had between half and a year and a half to live. I left the office thinking that the doctor was definitely wrong, that he didn’t know, that specialists from abroad would definitely help us and save Ania, he recalled, adding that he never told her about this meeting so as not to take away her hope for her return. to health.

We couldn’t take away hope from Oliwia or ourselves. The sons, Szymon and Jasiu, were still too young, but I think they were also affected by anxiety, because they knew that mom and dad often went to the hospital and they could intuitively feel that something was happening, he said. The hardest part, however, came at the end. When Przybylska died, it was he who had to tell them the sad news. Years later, he admitted that he still doesn’t know how he handled it emotionally. – It was a cruel, emotional, terrible experience for me. Downright devastating, he said, emphasizing that a psychologist participated in the entire process.
