Disney showed a trailer for a new series in the Star Wars universe. In June we will receive the first episodes of “Star Wars: The Acolyte”.

Disney unveiled the first cards of the latest production from around the world. This time he showed the trailer of “Star Wars: The Acolyte”. And although it is “only” a series, it must be admitted that it is as impressive as the previous full-length films.

There was “Ahsoka”, we are still waiting for “The Mandalorian”, and also for “Andor”. Star Wars fans, however, do not have to be patient too much, because just before the holidays, Disney will present them with “Star Wars: The Acolytye”, announced as one of the darker installments of the universe. The fact that such a series was being created was announced already in 2020 – now we have finally received both the trailer and the exact release date – June 4. Disney will present the first two episodes immediately – the same was done recently with “Shogun”. The next ones will most likely premiere once a week.

Disney has consistently kept the plot relatively secret. Initially, it was supposed to be an investigation of a student and her former master regarding Jedi murders. It is now known that this idea has evolved – yes, there will be murders, but the cooperation of the Jedi master (Lee Jung-jae) and his former student (?) (Amandla Stenberg) will no longer be so obvious. Amandla Stenberg is to be the main antagonist. The series will take place at a time when the Sith were still hiding and preparing to strike. Ultimately, Disney announces a dark thriller, which gives hope that we will get a production that is more serious than for children.

The cast included, among others: Manny Jacinto (“The Good Place”), Jodie Turner-Smith (“Sex Education”, “Anne Boleyn”), Dafne Keen (“His Dark Materials”) and Carrie-Anne Moss – Trinity from “The Matrix”. The title was produced and directed by Leslye Headland (“Russian Doll”).
