They found love in the first gay dating show in Poland. Now they are appealing to Tusk

During the election campaign, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the introduction of civil partnerships in Poland one hundred days after his government took power. In theory, this should be possible next Friday, but this is unlikely to happen. Jacek Jelonek and Oliwer Jakubiak, who met thanks to their participation in the dating program “Prince Charming”, took part in a special campaign aimed at accelerating the fulfillment of Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s election promise.

For the last four years, our country has taken the inglorious last place among the European Union countries in the pan-European ILGA-Europe ranking examining the level of equality of LGBT+ people. However, contrary to social sentiment, in 2020 TTV offered its viewers the first gay dating reality show entitled “Prince Charming Poland”.

They found love on a TV show. They would finally like to formalize their relationship

In the first season, the title “Prince Charming” was the model Jacek Jelonek, who was looking for his other half among thirteen candidates. Ultimately, Oliwer Jakubiak, who is ten years younger than me, won his heart, and since the show was broadcast in autumn 2021, the men are still together and create a happy relationship. In many interviews they emphasized that they were thinking about their future together and would like to create a family.

That is why the participants of the popular show decided to join the 100 days for relationships campaign, which refers to Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s pre-election announcement about the implementation of the Civil Partnership Act during the first 100 days of the new government. Jacek Jelonek and Oliwier Jakubiak, as the heroes of the action, indicate that there are three days left until this agreed date.

We are in favor of introducing civil partnerships because we will finally have the opportunity to formalize our relationship in the country where we were born and where we currently live. This is related to such basic issues as the fact that no one will automatically refuse to provide us with medical information in the hospital if something happened to one of us, the same applies to inheritance or even joint tax settlement. We just want to build our Love Story in peace

– we read on the campaign website.

The organizers of the campaign are Jakub KwieciƄski and Dawid Mycek, who are known for various initiatives for equality in Poland. On the website you can sign a petition to Prime Minister Donald Tusk to fulfill his election promise and adopt the law on civil partnerships within the first 100 days of the government.
