Luna revealed some details about her upcoming performance in the Onet Rano program. It is known that he relies on a motif already known from the music video for “The Tower” – the chessboard. Apart from her, there will be three dancers on stage. (last year Blanka waved her hand in a characteristic way, this year it is building an invisible tower over the heads of Luna and the dancers). She also announced that her performance would be directed by a British director, but did not reveal his name.
However, it is known that it is Jerry Reeve – the Briton comments on Luna’s subsequent posts on her social media, and is already mentioned on the official Eurovision website when presenting the Polish song. Is this a good choice? The dog is buried here.
Jerry Reeve already has Eurovision experience. Unfortunately, it is not what we should be happy about. He was involved in directing Great Britain’s 2021 performance. James Newman, who was playing at the time, received a staggering zero points. The vocalist’s mobility on stage was then reduced to zero (Neman stood on a platform, waved one hand and tried to get the audience going, only halfway through the song did he leave his platform – then it turned out that he could not sing cleanly while moving), several dancers-trombonists were added, fireworks making “poof-poof”, two large models of trumpets and… no wonder it didn’t work out. To what extent it was a problem of the song itself, and to what extent it was a problem of what was happening on stage – perhaps the director did everything with the material he had at his disposal.
Jerry Reeve is not a complete nouveau riche when it comes to directing this type of performances. He has collaborated with Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, John Legend, and is also the creative director of “The Voice UK”.
