The bread that usually ends up in our shopping carts is the most ordinary one, made from wheat flour, without any grains and basically without any nutritional value. However, it is a rich source of carbohydrates and empty calories. White bread also has a high glycemic index, which does not have a positive effect on our body if we want to lose a few kilograms. But on the other hand, bread is one of the basic products in our homes. We need it when we make sandwiches, toast, toast. Well, do we really “need” it? It turns out that bread can be replaced and it does not mean great sacrifices.
What to eat instead of bread?
The biggest problem with white bread is its virtually zero nutritional content. Even a small change to whole-grain, rye or grain-only bread will provide our body with valuable values. In addition, we will be satisfied with less food and we will not be hungry for longer.
If we are fans of sandwiches, it is worth trying to prepare them on crispbread. It should not be confused with rice waffles, which also have a high glycemic index. We can buy crispbread in stores in various variants, e.g. rye, graham or buckwheat.
The form of sandwiches or boats that we can hold in our hands is very convenient. Instead of bread, use peppers, folded crispy iceberg lettuce or roasted vegetables. A thick slice of baked sweet potato, zucchini or celery will work perfectly here. We can also try to bake our own vegetable bread.
Omelettes and pancakes will also replace bread in the diet. For breakfast, a better choice than a sandwich will be oatmeal, and for dinner a salad stuffed with vegetables – we can also enrich it with lean meat, mozzarella, healthy nuts and seeds, as well as a splash of olive or linseed oil (which will also have a great effect on our skin and nails).

Why is it worth replacing bread in your diet?
A simple change of this one product will really do us good. It can contribute to a better appearance and, above all, better well-being. We will have more energy, flatulence problems will disappear, and the condition of our skin will improve. And when we finish breakfast, we won’t immediately think about dinner. It is important that our diet is balanced and unrigorous. This – contrary to appearances – may have the opposite effect to that intended.
