The queen of Polish cabarets – Katarzyna Pakosiñska – has been in a relationship with the Georgian journalist Irakli Basilashvili since 2016. However, their friendship began with a life-threatening situation.

and Irakli Basilashvili avoid the media. Sometimes, however, the actress manages a moment of honesty and tells with emotion how her relationship with her husband began. It was a hair’s breadth from tragedy.

Katarzyna Pakosińska met her husband in a hotel in Georgia

The beginning of the relationship between the actress and the Georgian journalist is ready material for a romantic film. It started (almost) with an earthquake, and then emotions only grew. In 2016, during one of her numerous trips to Georgia, Pakosińska felt unwell. At the hotel, it turned out that the satirist had suffered a collapse:

It paralyzed me, I couldn’t walk or talk. Irakli broke down the door and started resuscitating me. If it weren’t for his intervention, my heart would have stopped – she told the “Kobieta i Życie” magazine.

Rescue came from a stranger who was her driver that same day. The man kicked in the hotel room door and started resuscitation. If it weren’t for his intervention, the whole situation could have ended tragically for Pakosińska. Fate wanted something completely different. The man was, of course, Irakli Basilashvili, who was so concerned about the actress’s well-being that he made sure she returned home safely. When he accompanied her to the airport, from where she was to return to Poland, he received a kiss and thanks from her. Pakosińska said then that this was the moment when they fell in love. However, in one of his rare interviews, Basilashvili has a different version of this story. He was charmed by Pakosińska’s eyes already in the car in which he was driving her. “I saw in the rearview mirror the greenest eyes in the world, laughing at me,” he said, but later added that her subsequent kiss settled the matter.

A few months later they were already engaged. The wedding apparently lasted a week. Irakli Basilashvili, called the “Georgian prince” in Poland, is truly supposed to have a noble pedigree. “He is proud, honorable, true to his word, truthful and honest. Maybe it’s because he has blue blood flowing in his veins?” – Pakosińska said in one of the interviews.
