Laurence Andries is an American television producer who is responsible for creating many crime series, such as: “Supernatural”, “How to Get Away with Murder” and “The Blues”. But last August, his career came to an abrupt end when he was arrested by Los Angeles police.
Former vice-president of the Writers’ Guild foundation accused of raping a war veteran
The 66-year-old was released on bail of $150,000, but a preliminary hearing in this case will take place soon, on April 17. The prosecutor’s office brought six charges against the producer relating to the June 2022 event.
The victim is a man, a war veteran whose real identity has not been revealed. The media presents him as John Do, who met the producer during training courses for future screenwriters organized by Andries. The men quickly established a good rapport, and the film adept saw him as his mentor.
The war veteran also allegedly assured the producer that he was heterosexual. However, this did not make Andries come to terms with this information. During one meeting in June 2022, the men met privately. The producer offered him a drink and added a “rape pill”, after which he was raped.
Two days ago, John Doe revealed in an interview with KTLA that the prosecutor’s office wants to demand a three-year prison sentence for the producer. However, the victim has a different opinion. The man believes that this is too low a punishment.
