Spring is the period when nature comes to life. It’s no wonder that we have a lot of work to do in our home gardens at this time. Actions that are worth doing now include: preparation of fruit trees, including spraying. With their help, you will effectively protect juicy fruit against the invasion of unwanted diseases and pests. Especially since you can make an effective mixture yourself.
When to spray fruit trees in spring? It’s best to do it now
We usually associate spraying with chemicals. Even if they protect effectively, they are not indifferent to our health. Therefore, instead of choosing ready-made store-bought mixtures, it is worth using proven home remedies. One of them is an effective spray that will protect fruit trees against pests such as aphid larvae, fruit spider mites, or more precisely, their overwintering eggs and the plum fruit mite, as well as against mold and fungi. However, for it to be effective, it should be used now, preferably by the end of Marchwhen the trees do not yet have leaves or the first buds appear. Remember to spray only on a relatively warm (above 10 degrees Celsius) and, above all, windless day.

When and what to spray fruit trees in spring? Stock up on paraffin oil
The product in question is a paraffin oil spray, the preparation of which is very easy and inexpensive. You can buy a 250 ml bottle for PLN 13, of which you probably won’t even use half of it in the garden, because only 100 ml per 5 liters of water is enough for spraying. Mix both ingredients thoroughly, pour into the sprayer and spray the trees generously, starting from the branches and shoots in the crown, then moving to the upper ones and finally to the lower ones. Don’t skimp on the product, even let it flow off the tree. Do not spray when leaves and flower buds appear and develop.
What to spray with paraffin oil? Not just fruit trees
Paraffin oil is safe for plants, but it is harsh for molds and fungi, which cover them and make further functioning difficult, so they die sooner or later. It is ideal both when the plant has already been attacked and for preventive spraying, which will protect the trees in advance and ensure their good condition. In addition, you can also use it on ornamental trees, shrubs and conifers, but it is important to spray them before the vegetation begins. This way you will get rid of, among others: aphids, larvae of the yew beetle or the spruce-larch beetle. It will also deal with the eggs of the pine spider mite.
