Although Krzysztof Cugowski has been performing on stage for over five decades, he still cannot enjoy his well-deserved retirement. It turns out that the rate the 73-year-old singer receives from ZUS is not even enough to meet his basic needs. How much is his benefit now?

In 2017, Cugowski reached retirement age and after over 50 years of work, he decided to retire. Despite this, he has not finished his career since then and still regularly meets fans during concerts and festivals. In interviews, he openly admits that he does it not only out of pleasure, but primarily out of necessity. And all because the amount awarded to him by ZUS is not sufficient to meet even his basic needs.

The former leader does not blame anyone for this state of affairs and does not hide that he himself is to blame. In his youth, he did not approach the issue sensibly enough, because he did not pay normal contributions to ZUS, but used the so-called preferential benefits, which amounted to only 14 groszy per year. This resulted in a low pension. How much is the amount of the benefit he receives from the state?

It turns out that initially Cugowski only earned about PLN 570 per month. Some time later, the regulations changed and the minimum amount of benefits in Poland was increased, as well as indexation, as a result of which he was finally granted less than PLN 1,000, which was transferred to his account every month. As he found out, the musician’s current pension is approximately PLN 1,700 a month, but in times of rising inflation he is still unable to support himself and has to work. – I wouldn’t be able to survive on what ZUS is kind enough to pay me, so I will have to sing until I die like Mieczysław Fogg – he said in an interview for the portal.
