‘Nina’, film by Pamplona-born Andrea Jaurrieta, Critics’ Prize at the Malaga Festival

‘Little girl‘, the second film by the Pamplona filmmaker Andrea Jaurrietahas been awarded the Critics’ Award at the Malaga Festivalin which he participated in the Official Section.
The jury, made up of Laia Portaceli, Moisés Rodríguez, Alberto Rey, Matías Rebolledo and María Esther Beltrán, highlighted that “the film speaks about a sensitive issue in our society in a brave way, denouncing sexual abuse and complicit and cover-up silenceswith a very elaborate narrative and cinematographic structure that recovers the archetypes of classic cinema in the form of a powerful modern western, in which color and music play a prominent role, as a fundamental part of the film.”
Furthermore, he assessed that the film “is full of cinephile references, with constant nods to classic cinema, brilliantly captured by the director in powerful dialogues and scenes.”
The jury also recognized “the excellent acting work of the cast, led by Patricia López Arnaiz, Darío Grandinetti and Aina Picaroloas well as the excellent soundtrack composed by Zeltia Montes, which pays homage to Bernard Hermann’s scores for Alfred Hitchcock, the great photography and editing of NINA.
‘Nina’ is the second feature film by Andrea Jaurrieta, who has participated with the project in the laboratories of Torino Feature Lab, Residencias Academia de Cine de España, New Horizons Studio+, Atlántida Film Fest and Abycine Lanza, among others.
BTeam Pictures will release ‘Nina’ on May 10, 2024. The film It was filmed for 6 weeks in different locations in Mundaka and Bermeo.
