Tourists who want a souvenir against the background of fields often trample crocuses when entering lawns or clearings. In the Tatra Mountains, where the most popular crocus clusters can be found, they are protected. It turns out that not only in the Chochołowska Valley, Kościeliska Valley or Kalatówki, trampling and picking can result in a heavy fine.

What are the consequences of breaking a crocus? Trampling is also punishable
Crocuses in public places, i.e. not only in parks, but also on alleys in cities, such as at Jasne Błonia in Szczecin, should not be trampled, plucked or lie on them in order to take a dream photo. At best, such behavior will result in a reprimand. At worst a fine. – We would like to remind you that such behavior is an offense under Art. 144 §1 (destruction of vegetation in public places) punishable by a fine of up to PLN 1,000 – emphasized the spokeswoman of the Szczecin city guard, senior inspector. If the offender enters into a discussion with the services and refuses to accept the ticket, the case may go to court. The final result may be more expensive there, the fine may be up to PLN 5,000. It is better to photograph crocuses from a safe distance or in your own garden.
