A few days ago, the media received information about the financial problems of Telewizja Polska. The station, which has been put into liquidation, does not pay its employees, and the arrears amount to millions. The problem affected, among others, the “Klan” actors, who have not received remuneration for two months. Work on the set of the series is still ongoing due to previously concluded contracts. “The schedule is set for the holidays and we cannot afford any breaks. Otherwise, we would not have fulfilled the contracts and there would have been a problem,” Tomasz Stockinger told Plotek.
Tomasz Stockinger on the problems of “Telewizja Polska”: “It’s not a surprise”
The actor, who has been playing the role of Dr. Lubicz for 27 years, also commented on the current situation on Polish Television. Tomasz Stockinger is convinced that the problems of the public broadcaster will soon disappear, and the actors, as assured by TVP, will receive their outstanding salaries. “We are waiting for the payments. There is a delay, but it seems to me that this matter is only temporary and it is not a serious problem,” he explained.
The actor also added that the delay was not a problem for him because the creators of the series had already informed him about the situation. So Stockinger does not intend to spread panic, especially because he still has something to live on. “It doesn’t keep me awake at night and doesn’t disturb my life. The production was ahead of us, so it’s not a surprise or some scandal or a situation where a person has nothing to live for. Especially when you don’t live like me, for a month for a month and you have savings,” he told Plotkowi.
