His big penis gave him a career. But when Rocco Siffredi had everything, he suffered

Sex, suffering and the curse of a big penis. “Supersex” on Netflix is the story of a star who lost everything on the way to fame. Where did Rocco Siffredi, the master of hardcore porn from the 80s and 90s, come from?

Porn is a deadly disease that infects everyone who touches it – even if they don’t participate in the industry themselves. This is the conclusion from the series about Rocco Siffredi, an Italian porn star. “Supersex” is a galaxy of tragic characters who hurt each other more and more in each episode. The fabulous, sex-filled evenings always end and are followed by a sobering and cruel morning.

“Supersex” about Rocco Siffredi hit the Netflix platform

Rocco Siffredi is a walking legend in the history of modern pornography. Multiple winner of numerous awards in the industry, owner of a truly impressive penis, handsome, innovator. There’s a good chance that if you’ve ever looked at the porn shelf at a newsstand, there were Rocco movies on there – he starred in over 1,300 of them. How did this happen and who exactly is he? You will find out from the series that was released on Netflix on Wednesday. However, be prepared for drama rather than good fun, because “Supersex” is definitely a tragedy, not a comedy.

Poverty, a handicapped brother, another brother selling his woman’s body, unhappy loves and the curse of a large penis. As if that wasn’t enough, we also have a girl playing religious songs on an organ, lots and lots of sex (but what do you expect from a show about a porn star), there are strategically placed palm trees and glasses and lots of beautiful women. But this is all a smokescreen for a truly tragic and sad character. Or rather sad characters, because “Supersex” is filled to the brim with them. “Supersex” touches hearts more than the contents of panties, although there is indeed plenty of nudity here.

We move to Rocco’s childhood, filled with love for his mother and poverty. Ortona didn’t offer many opportunities to earn money, so it shouldn’t be surprising that Rocco followed his older brother to Paris. This one already had a stable life. It consisted of making money with his wife and conducting shady business in a cafe, to which the young and very inexperienced Rocco could be involved. The first trips to Pigalle Square, where chestnuts are the best, took the young Italian deeper into swingers’ clubs and later onto the first sets of films. Rocco had good looks, willingness, potential and an exceptionally strong body, which instantly made him a star. His brother, his wife, his mother in Italy, his subsequent partners – all this was left behind as Rocco the “Italian Stallion” tried to find balance and love.

There is not a single person here whose life turned out happily. If you think you’re going to get a sugar-coated, sex-filled story about a god with a huge penis who gets off on everything he can, you’re both right and very wrong. There is everything in “Supersex”, but there is much more than sugarcoat, there is pain and overwhelming sadness. The life of the biggest porn star of the 80s and 90s is filled with terrible suffering, and Rocco Siffredi, if the series’ interpretation of his life is to be believed, is one of the victims of the industry that crushes people. His loved ones suffer with him and even access to unimaginable money cannot correct their mistakes.

However, contrary to appearances, “Supersex” is not only a criticism of pornography. Rocco Siffredi, although so uncomplicated on the set, turns out to be a guy with a complicated past. Every event in his life – his mother’s words, his brother’s death, the beautiful Lucia on a bicycle in Ortona, Italy – this whole combination of situations created the beautiful Rocco, who, somewhat by accident, ended up in the pornographic machine. Well, he was caught at the right moment, and then, when the first pleasures and successes came, it was difficult to free himself. And although the world of his loved ones was also falling apart because of his career, Rocco was already so addicted to sex that it was impossible to function any other way.

“Supersex” is an efficient drama that can even make you cry

The seven episodes of “Supersex” are (you have to be careful with metaphors here) very good. They also certainly whitewash Rocco himself. It is not clear what drugs he had access to, working on a hardcore porn set is more like a family picnic (without children), although some girls complain from time to time that Siffredi is a bit brutal. However, the real stars here are the supporting characters, especially Rocco’s mother, older brother and his wife. There are episodes where their pain is palpable. So if you need a series that will make you feel a little better, “Supersex” is perfect for that, your mood will definitely not be any better after it. And it has the advantage that it loses little when viewed in acceleration. It is also a wonderful journey back in time, because the production managed to capture the freedom of the 80s and 90s – there are colors, music, and costumes.

The new Netflix offering ends just before the next important events in Rocco’s life. This is a rare situation, but the series could easily be extended until the last years, until 2022, when Siffredi once again (probably the last) withdrew from the industry. Perhaps this will be the topic of the second season of “Supersex”, because the whole thing leaves you somewhat unsatisfied.
