Joanna Senyszyn is undoubtedly one of the most colorful figures in Polish politics. Many years ago, the politician was not afraid to speak directly about the rights of women and LGBT+ people, as well as about her reluctance towards the Catholic Church and the views expressed by representatives of this institution. – It was the Church that started having problems with me, not me with it. I was brought up in the Catholic tradition – she admitted in 2009 in an interview with “Newsweek”.
In February, the politician celebrated her 75th birthday. Interestingly, she has been married for many years. Her husband, Bolesław, is a lawyer (first he was a judge, and later a lawyer). The couple got married in 1976. Senyszyn, once asked about the secret of a successful relationship, said: “You have to meet the right man at the right time.”

As the politician revealed, she and her husband have the same political views. In her opinion, this is one of the most important aspects of a successful relationship. – I can’t imagine life with a man who wasn’t left-wing and a feminist. Fortunately, he doesn’t have to defend me, because there are only such men in our environment. And my husband is the first feminist among them – Senyszyn confessed in an interview with “Gala”.

Bolesław Senyszyn very rarely appears in public. In 2010, however, he made an exception and appeared in the program “She and On”. – When asked who was in charge at home, my wife replied that at the beginning of our relationship we agreed that I would decide on important matters and she would decide on less important ones. At the end, she added that there were no important matters – he later recalled his participation in the Polsat program in an interview with “Rzeczpospolita”.

Interestingly, according to the politician, she and her husband form a “sailor marriage”. This is because she, due to her work commitments, was rarely at home. In turn, her husband always waited for her return. – I was setting sail for Warsaw, and my husband, like Penelope, was waiting for me in Gdynia. […] You can get used to absence just as much as you get used to presence. Sailor marriages are even more lasting. There is no time to get bored with each other, and returns are a celebration – she said in an interview with “Gala”. It is worth mentioning that the couple never decided to become parents. – For a moment, my husband thought that he wanted to have children, but he quickly realized that he did not want to – Senyszyn confessed in one of the interviews.
