Beata Michniewicz leaves Trójka after 40 years. She was with the station “for better and for worse”

Changes in public media continue with each new week. Now we learn that Beata Michniewicz will no longer be the host of political talks in Trójka. The new management of Polish Radio decided to end cooperation with the station’s long-time journalist.

As reported by Presserwis, the new management of Polish Radio has decided to remove Beata Michniewicz from conducting political talks on the broadcaster’s airwaves. According to information obtained by the portal, in March the host of “Trójka’s Political Salon” will be Sylwia Białek, who has been a reporter for the Radio Information Agency for many years. So far, she has run similar programs on Jedynka and PR24.

Polskie Radio has still not commented on this situation, and Presserwis referred to anonymous interlocutors who work in public radio. The portal managed to contact Beata Michniewicz, but the journalist did not want to comment on this information.

I don’t want to comment on it, said the journalist.

She started working at Radio Trójka in 1983. In the second half of the 1980s, she was associated with the satirical program “Not only for eagles”. In 1992, she was the originator of the Silver Lips plebiscite, in which radio listeners chose original statements from people from public life, mainly politicians. However, in 2020, during the presidency of Agnieszka Kamiñska, the organization of the plebiscite was suspended.

On September 27, 2011, she was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta by the President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski, for her outstanding contributions to Polish Radio. In 2019, she received the MediaTory award in the AuTORytet category. In recent years, she was the host of “Trójka’s Political Salon” and Saturday’s “Breakfast at Trójka”, where politicians comment on current events.
