On February 8, 1999, the premiere of the film adaptation of Henryk Sienkiewicz’s novel, directed by Jerzy Hoffman, took place. It is considered one of the most popular and profitable productions in the history of Polish cinema. One of the stars was Alexander Domogarov from Moscow, playing the role of Bohun.
Izabela Kuna lost her head for Aleksander Domogarov. They later starred in a movie together
It is no secret that many Polish women longed for the handsome Russian, including: , who at that time was freshly divorced from her first husband, Dariusz Kurzelewski, and was raising her 3-year-old daughter, Nadia, on her own. Domogarov had a reputation in his community as a womanizer, he was short-tempered by nature, and there were legends about his alcohol-fueled antics. However, this did not discourage her. When a few weeks later she found out that she would play alongside him in the film “At the End of the World” by Magda Łazarkiewicz, she felt as if she had won in life. – I really liked him very much – in “Dobry Tygodnia”.
Work on the set went well from the beginning. Domogarov played the painter and Kuna played his model Victoria, so on the first day of shooting she had to stand in front of him in a negligee. In interviews, she emphasized that although it was an embarrassing challenge for her, she quickly began to feel comfortable, and the actor impressed her with his professionalism and the fact that he cared about her comfort. She was under the illusion that there was a deeper meaning to it, but he was simply a gentleman. He liked her much more than Kuna, who played the role of her friend, and he made advances towards her. Finally, the actress gave up hope and gained distance from her relationship with a handsome friend from across the eastern border, which helped her cope with her love failure.
After 13 years, Kuna and the film’s Bohun met again. The actress rejected his advances
After the premiere of the film, Kuna had no contact. She focused on developing her career, which quickly skyrocketed, making her one of the most popular Polish actresses. Her private life also started to go well, as she found happiness with Marek Modzelewski. Everything changed when in 2012 she was cast in one of the main roles in the series “Blood of Blood”, in which Domogarov played one of the side characters. When they met on set, she couldn’t believe how much he had changed. However, he was impish and eager to hit on her. This time, however, it was she who dismissed him without any response, completely unresponsive to his compliments. Today, they remain in neutral relations, and Kuna is reluctant to recall the times when she was blindly infatuated with Bohun in the film.
