Dill is an easy plant to grow that even a novice gardener can handle. It is worth sowing it in the ground not only for its taste, but also for the fact that it is your own its characteristic smell is perfect for repelling pests. When is the best time to start doing this? If you want to enjoy its deliciousness as early as possible, sow in mid-April. After 6-8 weeks you will harvest your first harvest. Dill seeds are planted in the ground to a depth of approx. 2 cm, in rows every 20-30 cm. Before you get down to it, prepare your position properly. It’s best to choose ones close to cucumbers, onions, beans, carrots or peas, and avoid those close to celery. Fill it with fertile, permeable soil, e.g. ready for cultivation, then insert the seeds to a depth of approx. 1-2 cm and water. Keep the pot in a sunny and warm place. You will collect the first leaves suitable for eating after just a month. Sow subsequent batches in an even row, preferably every 2 weeks, and you will have access to a fresh plant all the time. Don’t forget about regular watering, which is essential. Dill likes moist, but not overwatered soil. When winter comes, put the pots inside the house.
