Cat Janice is dead. Before her death, the 31-year-old singer recorded a song for her son, which she provided him with financial support.

Sad news came from the United States. Cat Janice, a singer whom the whole world supported in her fight against cancer, died on Wednesday morning. A month ago, she released her latest song – “Dance you outta my head”, written especially for her son. The song quickly reached the top of the charts – also because of the story behind it.

Cat Janice is dead

Cat Janice has been suffering from cancer since 2021. The singer was treated for melanoma, which was initially just a small lesion on the back of her neck. The woman reported her entire journey to health on social media, and at the same time released subsequent music albums and performed. In 2022, she could announce that the treatment was a success. Unfortunately, just before the previous holidays, tests showed a recurrence.

Janice entered hospice at the beginning of January. It was then that she published her last song, “Dance you outta my head”. The song was intended as financial security for her seven-year-old son. And so it happened – “Dance you outta my head” instantly became a viral on social media, a hit on TikTok to which everyone danced, in a month it gained almost two million views on YouTube, topped the BillBoard charts, and was also a success on Spotify. Janice was already feeling very bad. She transferred all rights to the songs to her son, thus providing him with financial support after his death:

You all know that I have been fighting cancer for some time now. But I wanted to release this song. I hope you like it. I don’t know if I can survive four more days until its premiere… – she said on social media.

On Wednesday, an entry written by her relatives appeared there:

Cat’s music took her to places she never thought she would ever go. She can now rest in the knowledge that her songs will continue to do good and support her son. This would never have happened without you, her brother wrote.

Cat Janice, or Catherine Janice Ipsan, was 31 years old.
