Although Poland’s representative in the Eurovision Song Contest has already been selected, the dust around the event has not yet settled. Izabela Zabielska was among the candidates who, like Luna, dreamed of going to Malmo. The singer spoke strongly about the backstage of the competition.

Izabela Zabielska was one of this year’s candidates to represent Poland in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest. By the decision of the jury composed of Kasia Moś, Łukasz Pieter, Michał Hanczak, Konrad Szczęsny and Piotr Klatt, the singer took 11th place, and Luna was the winner of the vote. Confusion around Zabielska flared up even before the results were published, as a result of her conflict with Justyna Steczkowska. Although the artists have already resolved their dispute, the topic of Eurovision still arouses many emotions, even among the candidates themselves.

Izabela Zabielska talks about the backstage of Eurovision

In an interview with Pomponik, Izabela Zabielska talked about the backstage of the Eurovision Song Contest. The artist has a clear position on this matter. “Eurovision is always rigged. In the sense that Eurovision has deals with studios. Unfortunately, that’s how the world works, most of this type of stuff is a rigged thing. Am I in favor of it? Absolutely not, but that’s how it looks,” she said.

She also noted that, despite her previous words about the competition, she believed Luna’s choice was right. “I don’t want anyone to understand that I’m saying ‘It’s a set-up because Luna is not suitable’. No. I think it’s good that Luna is going because they give a chance to someone who is not yet as famous as Justyna Steczkowska. Steczkowska is already known and if she went, it would also be great, because it would be a comeback, but it’s great that they are giving a chance to someone who is not at the heights of show business,” added Izabela Zabielska in an interview with Pomponik.

Let us remind you that the decision to choose the Polish representative in the Eurovision Song Contest was made this year without the participation of the audience. The jury vote took place behind closed doors, and the winner’s name was announced last Monday in “Pytanie na ¦niadanie”.
