Ewa Wilczyñska says goodbye to Tomasz Komenda. “This is not how this story should have ended”

Tomasz Komenda, who in 2004 was wrongly sentenced to 25 years in prison for the rape and murder of a 15-year-old girl, has died. The man was said goodbye to Ewa Wilczyñska, author of the book “The Girl in the Black Dress. The Story of the Mi³oszyce Crime”.

Ewa Wilczyńska, author of the book “The girl in the black dress. The history of the Miłoszyce crime”, has been dealing with the Miłoszyce crime case for years. She also described the trial of Ireneusz M. and Norbert Basiura and Tomasz Komenda’s fight for compensation.

Ewa Wilczyńska comments on the death of Tomasz Komenda

The writer, who knew Tomasz Komenda personally, said goodbye to him in a post on Facebook. “Tomek Komenda is dead. This is the saddest thing I have ever had to write. This is not how this story should have ended… Boy, I’m glad I could meet you.”

Information about the death of Tomasz Komenda was provided by TVN journalist Grzegorz Głuszak, who, like Ewa Wilczyńska, investigated the Miłoszyce crime. The murder of 15-year-old Małgosia took place on New Year’s Eve 1996/1997. Tomasz Komenda was accused of the murder, although he did not plead guilty and repeatedly emphasized that his earlier testimony had been forced on him.

After being released and cleared of the charges in 2018, the man tried to put his life back together. Shortly afterwards, the media reported that Komenda proposed to his partner, Anna Walter, with whom he welcomed his son Filip at the end of 2020. However, their relationship did not stand the test of time, and the man’s relationship with his mother and brother also deteriorated. A little later, in one of the interviews, Tomasz Komenda said that he had lung cancer. Although in 2021 the court awarded him compensation in the amount of PLN 13 million, the man emphasized more than once that the money would never reimburse him for the time he spent behind prison bars.
