The Burberry brand is a real phenomenon. Founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, the company began very modestly, as a small clothing store in Hampshire. Thanks to high-quality fabrics and innovative ideas for practical design, Thomas quickly gained recognition. The breakthrough was the introduction of gabardine fabric to the market. It is waterproof, but still breathable. In addition to practical solutions, Burberry has also made its mark on fashion thanks to its extremely stylish designs.

In the 1920s, Burberry designed the iconic check pattern, which became a symbol of the brand forever. It was found on the lining of iconic raincoats, becoming synonymous with British style and class. The combination of classic beige, black, red and white checks makes the pattern extremely recognizable all over the world. First, they were delivered to the British army, which was the best confirmation of their durability. After the war, it was quickly noticed that the check was extremely stylish, which is why subsequent Burberry designs became an object of desire. And a trench coat from this brand is still a symbol of elegance and the quiet luxury trend. However, vests also look incredibly stylish and are a great choice for spring. Unfortunately, a Burberry vest is quite expensive, around PLN 7,000.

If you don’t care about the brand, but mainly about this pattern, I found a great equivalent. On the goodlookin website you can find a double-sided vest in beige and black and, of course, with a checkered pattern. It is not the same, but in similar colors. I really appreciate the ability to wear it in two ways. For plain sweaters with a check pattern on the outside, and for more colorful ones with beige on the outside.
