28 years have passed since the premiere of the series “Mothers, Wives and Lovers”, but the production is still very popular. One of the main roles was played by Anna Romantowska. Since the beginning of his career, he has been living away from the spotlight. It is known that she was the wife of Krzysztof Kolberger.

On February 18, 1996, the series “Mothers, Wives and Lovers” debuted on TVP1. While critics weren’t thrilled, audiences were. Although only 22 episodes were created in two series, the production about four friends from their college days was permanently remembered by fans and the history of television. Anna Romantowska played the role of Wiktoria Zarychta, a single mother raising her son and living in a small town near Warsaw.

Anna Romantowska knew well in her childhood that she wanted to become an actress. – I have been involved in backyard, school and amateur theater for as long as I can remember. And somehow it just happened, she said in 2015. In 1974, she graduated from the Acting Department of the State Drama School in Warsaw and made her stage debut in the same year. In the following years, viewers could watch her in productions such as “A Woman and a Woman”, “Interrogation”, “Supervision”, “The Art of Loving”, “Endgame” and “Scream”. A breakthrough in Anna Romantowska’s career was “Mothers, Wives and Lovers”.

After the end of her adventure with the cult series, Anna Romantowska did not disappear from the screens. She played, among others, in “Time of Honor”, the film “Fur”, “Winged Pigs”, and most recently in the crime comedy “The Green Glove Gang”, which is to return in 2024 with a second season. Despite her considerable popularity, Anna Romantowska has led a life away from the media and the limelight from the very beginning.

When Anna Romantowska was 20 years old, she met Krzysztof Kolberger. They both studied at the PWST in Warsaw. They were united by great friendship and infatuation. They got married in the mid-1970s, but even then she suspected that Kolberger was hiding something. In 1978, their daughter, Julia, was born. A few years later they broke up, but only those closest to them knew about it. So after a quiet divorce came a quiet divorce, but the two remained friends, and not only for the sake of the child. Romantowska married again, this time to director Jacek Bromski, and divorced again quietly.

Only many years later, when Krzysztof Kolberger was no longer alive, did his daughter confirm what was whispered about behind the scenes and what was an open secret. – If you are the child of a loving parent, the parent’s orientation really does not matter – in an interview with “Replika”. – I am still friends with my dad’s partner, a wonderful man. This is my son’s grandfather, she added. Some time later, Romantowska herself commented on her daughter’s confession. “It was long overdue,” she admitted.
