Confession is a rite of cleansing from sins. Believers decide to renounce them and fight against them, so they accept the punishment imposed, i.e. penance. In return, they receive absolution. You go to confession for the first time just before your first Holy Communion. Later, priests recommend regular confession, e.g. weekly or monthly. Here is a list of the sins that Poles confess to most often.
The most common sins of Catholics. Poles confess this
Research by the Institute of Catholic Church Statistics shows that 3/4 of Poles go to confession only once a year, most often before Easter. Pensioners and pensioners go to confession more often than working people. who have recently made their first communion go to confession often. Youth after confirmation, not necessarily.
Number one on the list of sins we confess to most often is theft. Second place went to lies, third place to pride, and fourth place to contraception. – The Church respects what is natural, coming from God, and contraception is not respect for these rules, but an attempt to introduce its own – Father Grzegorz Kramer.

What doesn’t need to be confessed? List of unpunished offenses
One must confess grave sins (theft, murder, adultery), as well as sins against social virtues (breaking the law, destroying public goods). However, there are things we do not have to confess:
- Missing Holy Mass for a reason beyond our control, e.g. illness,
- Temporary doubts in faith,
- Other people’s sins (unless we protected the person who does evil),
- Temptations and ideas that arise independently of us
- Situations that we dreamed of
- Distraction during Holy Mass,
- Sins that we once confessed in confession and were forgiven, and which come back to our memory.
