Has TV Republika learned from its mistakes? More scandalous words on air

One of the Republika TV commentators made further outrageous words about migrants. A former PiS politician stated that it would be necessary to “create labor camps and places of isolation for migrants” in Poland. Due to this type of opinions, the station has a huge image problem, which affects its cooperation with advertisers. However, this time the interviewer reacted. It’s true that it wasn’t very effective, but he tried.

At the turn of December and January, when TV Republika began to record the highest viewership in history, shameful words about immigrants were uttered on the station’s air by the station’s regular commentators. Let us recall that, according to Jan Pietrzak, we should place newcomers seeking shelter “in barracks in Auschwitz, Majdanek, Treblinka, Stutthof.” In turn, Marek Król admitted that in his opinion, migrants should be “chipped like dogs” or “tattooed a number on their forearm”, because it is a cheaper method.

TV Republika may have further problems? More shameful words were uttered on air

The conversation with the political activist was conducted by Łukasz Janowski, who did not react in any way to these words. However, it turns out that the Republika TV employee has drawn conclusions from the past, because on February 14, he hosted the “Dzień z Republika” program, during which he hosted former PiS politician Bogdan Pęka.

He was invited as an expert to comment on the topic displayed on the bar: “Tusk’s coalition supported the migration pact in the European Parliament.” Added below: “Millions of migrants will be distributed to various countries – including Poland.” The guest’s choice quickly turned out to be a bad one, as he allowed himself to use further words that could cause the station to have problems with KRRiT and advertisers.

– Let’s assume that we get some contingent of these migrants, a few hundred thousand at the beginning or half a million, and these people will very quickly want to return to these richer countries: Germany, the Netherlands, France, Austria – said Pęk, and then he definitely went too far. – Well, we’ll have to stop them somehow. Because if we don’t stop them, we will pay. What, we are supposed to create some labor camps, places of isolation… – he said, and then the presenter interrupted him.

Senator, we must weigh our words, because coming up with such ideas… – said Janowski in a gentle tone, which only made Pęk even more angry.

– No, sir, come up with ideas, there will only be such a mechanism! All of them, or almost all of them, will not want to stay in Poland permanently! – the PiS politician shouted. The Republika TV employee decided not to enter into a discussion with his guest on this topic and only made this statement at the end. – I ask myself what this solution should look like in practice. Because so far I have not heard such information from the government – admitted Janowski.
