Are you tired of sandwiches and dream of a delicious breakfast straight from a restaurant? You don’t have to eat out at all. We know a quick and easy meal that will surely appeal to egg lovers. Instead of making scrambled eggs for the third day in a row, opt for shakshuka. This is a dish from the Middle East that has more and more fans in Poland.
A quick cooked breakfast. Preparation takes 10 minutes
In Arabic, the word “shakshuka” means a mixture, a mess. It’s no wonder that a dish based on eggs and tomatoes was named this way. At first glance, it looks like an artistic mess on a plate. In practice, one bite is enough to realize that it is a paradise for the palate. To prepare shakshuka you will need:
- 3 eggs,
- 3 tomatoes,
- 1 clove of garlic,
- Half an onion,
- Spices: salt, pepper, oregano, cumin,
- Optional: chives.
If you want the perfect taste, choose fleshy tomato varieties. Wash them under running water, scald them with boiling water and remove the skin. Cut the tomatoes into small cubes, place them in a bowl for 15 minutes and wait until they release their juice. It should be poured away.
The best shakshuka you’ve ever eaten. It looks and tastes amazing
It is best to fry shakshuka in butter or olive oil. Heat a teaspoon of butter in a pan. Add the onion and pressed garlic and fry. Then add tomatoes and spices. Mix everything and fry for 3 minutes. Now add 3 to the pan. Keep spaces between them. Don’t stir the dish anymore or it will lose all its charm. Cover the pan and fry over low heat for a few more minutes. The eggs should set easily. Decorate everything with chopped chives. This breakfast tastes best with warm bread.
