. The survey showed the current political preferences of Poles – we will soon elect local authorities, and the last two months were full of strong events in the domestic arena. The survey presented on the screen could have made the government especially happy – as we heard, the Civic Coalition had over 40% of the vote. support, which would mean over 100 percent. growth since the October elections.
The problem is that this is not true and the poll did not show such support. What happened to cause such manipulation in “7.30”?
TVP explains the mistake with the polls
“7.30” has been very carefully watched and analyzed for two months. All kinds of charts and surveys are under special supervision. In the “old” times, neutral results of public opinion polls were presented in an absolutely biased way – the charts were manipulated, they were signed in a creative way, and other, outdated data were added. However, times happily gone are still alive in the bowels of Woronicza.
On Saturday, viewers saw percentage results that corresponded to the data collected from the question “Which political party do you think will win in the local government elections?” However, the chart’s bars were presented seriously as results of support for specific political parties, which had absolutely no connection with the question actually asked. How did this happen? The portal managed to contact TVP.
The reason for this mistake was human error. The person responsible for preparing the graphic mistakenly described it as a support poll. Therefore, in Sunday’s edition of the “7:30 p.m.” program, two carefully described surveys were shown – support and chance – wrote in a statement sent to the website’s editors.
Unfortunately, the error was included in the script read by the presenter of “19.30”, Zbigniew £uczyñski on Saturday. The chart itself was signed appropriately, and if only the viewer was oriented and quick enough, he could detect the inconsistency between Łuczyński’s words and the title of the chart. This matter was rectified with more material the next day, but viewers were not informed that false news was reported in Saturday’s “7:30 p.m.”.
