She was the voice of childhood for many generations of Poles. It was Ewa Złotowska who dubbed the famous “Maya the Bee”. Even though the actress is associated with a cheerful fairy tale, she faced many difficulties in life.

Ewa Złotowska was born in 1945 in Zakopane. She started her film career in 1972 in the film “Caesar and Cleopatra”. She is also a famous dubbing artist and, in addition to “May the Bee”, she also lent her voice in such productions as “DuckTales”, “Pippi Långstrump” and “Descendants of the Titans”. However, fate did not spare her and she had to face many tragedies in her life, such as the death of her husband and a serious illness.

When she wanted to apply to drama school, no one took her seriously and didn’t bother to test her skills. The problem turned out to be the height of the actress, who measures 145 cm. She decided to study in Saint Petersburg, where she studied directing, and when she returned to Poland, she took up dubbing seriously. In 2002, Ewa Złotowska had a car accident. — They had to cut me out of the car with an electric saw. Then they put me together from several pieces – . Her husband, actor Marek Frąckowiak, was a great support during several months of rehabilitation. They got married in 1992 and lived together with animals adopted from a shelter in a house near Warsaw. However, in 2013, the actor was diagnosed with cancer. When he passed away four years later, the actress admitted that she was very saddened by his death. “I feel an emptiness around me, even though my beloved dogs and cats are nearby,” she explained.

Ewa Złotowska suffers from a neurological disease. “Sometimes it’s better, sometimes it’s worse”

Work was her escape from missing her husband, but one day Ewa Złotowska noticed that her voice was trembling dangerously. She went to a doctor who diagnosed a neurological disease called essential tremor. The actress admitted that she gave up dubbing and acting due to illness. — My voice has changed because I can’t hold my diaphragm, everything is shaking inside me. Sometimes it’s better, sometimes it’s worse – . Currently, Ewa Złotowska takes care of her beloved animals and works in the garden.
