According to her, the fate of actors is primarily the responsibility of the state and the Association of Polish Stage Artists, which do not appreciate their work and effort in the development of culture. – I believe that such great stars as the late Łapicki should live in great prosperity. They shouldn’t worry about royalties, they shouldn’t play until they’re 90, because they won’t have anything to live on, she said directly. She added that there is no similar problem in other countries, and artists can count on decent remuneration, thanks to which they do not have to worry about their fate. – Such people are national treasures and it does not matter how much they have earned – she thundered, adding that royalties in Poland are incomparably lower than in the West.
She also emphasized that the situation in the Polish film industry is not very optimistic. It happens that actors enjoy fame and recognition for some time, but after a few hit productions they are excluded by directors who have no new offers or engagements for them. – Then they don’t want him anymore because he “fitted”. He’s already healed and then he may not play anything for 5, 6, 7 years, only in the theater. So it’s terrible, she said regretfully. At the same time, she stated that, following the example of Western colleagues with such artistic achievements as she had, she should have retired long ago. However, he cannot afford such a step. – I have recorded 60 series, so I should not act at all and just live off the royalties. Oh no. It looks like I won’t be able to make a living from this, she said.
