“Chance for Success” is the oldest talent show broadcast in Poland. Its originator is Elżbieta Skrętkowska, who has been working on the format for almost two decades. In 2012, Wojciech Mann resigned from hosting the show, and then Telewizja Polska decided to end the broadcast of the program.
Elżbieta Skrętkowska returns to “Chance for Success”. But this is not the end of the changes
The format returned to TVP seven years later, but without Elżbieta Skrętkowska and Wojciech Mann. “I had no objection to the program returning to the air, but according to the contract proposed by TVP, I would have to get rid of all claims,” she said in 2019 and emphasized that Telewizja Polska had registered the program’s brand at the Patent Office without consulting her. She noted that she came up with the idea for “Szansa” before she started working at the station.
After many years, Wirtualne Media, Skrętkowska reached an agreement with Telewizja Polska and will return to “Szansa na Głos” as a director. The latest season of the program will be included in TVP’s spring schedule and will be broadcast from March 2 on Sundays at 3:15 p.m.
Artur Orzech will host “Chance for Success” again
However, this is not the end of the changes. We will no longer see Marek Sierocki as the host of “Szansa na Głos”. Artur Orzech will return to the program, which he confirmed personally in an interview with Wirtualne Media. For years, the host was associated with the festival in Opole, especially commenting on Eurovision.
In March 2021, Orzech parted ways with TVP. As he declared then, he and Telewizja Polska were at odds with their visions about the future of “Szansa”. The host regretted that he no longer had any influence on the program and, above all, on the invited guests. Orzech emphasized that he did not like being invited to the disco polo stars’ format. TVP presented the situation differently and justified the breakup with the presenter by saying that he did not show up at work unannounced. Orzech denies it and notes that the station’s explanations make no sense. “So where did Marek Sierocki come from in the recordings? He was walking along the corridor at S-5 to Woronicza? He wasn’t pulled like a rabbit out of a magician’s hat. The production knew that I wouldn’t be there, so they used him as a replacement,” he explained.
