Although the 32nd final is behind us, the fundraising is still ongoing. Many famous personalities from the world of show business, politics and sports were involved in the campaign, and one of them was Damian Maliszewski. The journalist decided to support the foundation by auctioning luxury accessories. However, not everything went according to plan.
WOŚP 2024. A famous journalist wanted to support Owsiak’s foundation. He didn’t expect this
One of Maliszewski’s trademarks are fashionable red prescription glasses, which is why he went in this direction when preparing his proposal for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. He put up for auction completely new frames from Dolce&Gabbana together with other frames, although used, but in perfect condition. However, this is not the end of surprises, because he announced that he would meet the winning person in person. He chose the famous Mariusz Szczyg³’s café as the place to hand over the auctioned items, where he also wanted to spend a nice time with the winner over coffee and chatting. The plan seemed perfect and the proposition tempting, but fate can be unpredictable and not everything can be predicted. The journalist has just announced on social media that the staggering sum with which the auction ended will not ultimately go to . Why?
The money from the auction will not go to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Maliszewski commented
Maliszewski admitted from the beginning that he did not expect his offer to become popular so quickly. Ultimately, it reached the amount of PLN 5,000. zloty. However, the happiness did not last long, and the money will ultimately not contribute to this year’s goal of the Jurek Owsiak Foundation, because the winner of the auction resigned from paying the declared amount, which he informed fans in a post on Instagram.
The lady who auctioned off my glasses and shared coffee for PLN 5,000. PLN, first she didn’t answer the phone, she didn’t reply to text messages, then she rejected my calls. Until she finally called back and said that it was not her, but her disabled daughter who took her phone and started bidding. And he’s very sorry, but he won’t pay the money. I believe that was the case. I don’t even have the strength to look into it. (…) I am sorry that the bidders’ energy and good will were wasted
He added that the glasses offer was again available on the popular auction platform, which means that the bidding started from the beginning. Maliszewski tried to say a few words towards the website. He stated that the regulations for people taking part in such a noble cause should be specified in detail and provide for situations such as, for example, securing funds from the account until the end of the project. Then those who are not really willing to support the campaign will not take part in it, and therefore, such situations will not repeat themselves.
By the way, Allegro’s policy is terrible. There were people there who bid for 3,000, then over 4,000. And Allegro, instead of offering the winnings to the people who were next in the bidding, tells me to list the item again. Incomprehensible. It is also incomprehensible that you can bid without securing funds. These funds should be secured at least for the duration of the auction, precisely to avoid fraud or situations such as this
– he wrote, not hiding his bitterness. will last until February 8, 2024 at 9:05 p.m. At the time of publication of the article, the highest amount proposed is PLN 1,775.
