Matthew Vaughn’s latest actioner hit Polish cinemas on February 2. The production tells the story of Elly Conway, a writer whose works begin to dangerously resemble the real activities of a dangerous underground syndicate. The creator soon becomes entangled in a number of intrigues. “Argylle – Secret Spy” starred an interesting duo – Henry Cavill and John Cena, the cast also included Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard and Dua Lipa. The film’s galaxy of stars did not defend themselves.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the production received only 34 percent. average critic ratings. Reviewers are merciless towards the film. They almost unanimously say that the film is boring, bland and has a poor script. “Excessively long, boring, full of idiotic plot ideas. The gaps are so large that a Boeing 747 piloted by a chimpanzee could get through them,” writes Wendy Ide from the Observer website. “It was exhausting,” sums up Sara Michelle Fetters of moviefreak.com. “When the credits roll, all you’re left with is the thought that you lost 139 minutes of your life,” adds Alissa Wilkinson of The New York Times.
