‘Zorra’ would remain intact on their way to the Eurovision Song Contest. After the controversy that arose read the regulations of the European Broadcasting Union (UER), there were doubts about whether the lyrics of the Nebulossa song would undergo any variation, something that the EBU itself has ruled out.

According to ‘El País’ and confirmed by the EFE Agency, which quotes the organization’s communication department, they rule out making any changes, highlighting the “many interpretations of the song title” that will represent Spain in the contest. “We have concluded that the song is eligible to participate in this year’s contest. The staging of the song in May, as with all participating acts, will be agreed with the producers at a later date,” they add.

In the Eurovision rules, it is said that countries will be “responsible for ensuring that all necessary measures are taken within their respective delegations and teams to safeguard the interests and integrity of the Eurovision Song Contest“, guaranteeing that the contest “will in no case be discredited.”

The current regulations prohibits the use of “lyrics, speeches or gestures of a political nature”, as well as “insults or unacceptable language“. “The lyrics and/or interpretations must not discredit the Eurovision Song Contest, nor the shows, nor the EBU. During the performance, no speeches or political gestures may be made,” they add.

In the section on ‘Values ​​and Integrity’ of the rules in force for this year it is indicated that Eurovision will have the responsibility of ensuring that “no contestant, delegation or country is discriminated against and/or ridiculed in any way“.
