The premiere of the third season of the hit HBO series “White Lotus” was planned for 2024. However, work on the production was interrupted by a strike of writers and actors. Mike White, the creator of the series, announced in an interview for Entertainment Weekly that the new season will be longer, made on an even bigger scale and crazier than the previous ones.

However, there were also problems in selecting actors for the new installment of the series.
The famous Serbian actor Milosz Biković was also supposed to star in the production. However, after the intervention of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, HBO released the artist. “We have decided to part ways with Bikovic, and his role will be changed,” an HBO spokesman said.

After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Biković did not criticize the actions in Russia, but previously he supported the annexation of Crimea. The actor has been living in Putin’s country for ten years and received citizenship from the president himself. Putin also presented him with an award for his “contribution to Russian culture.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reminded the creators of “White Lotus” about the distinction, which published a recording with fragments of the award ceremony.

Bikovic expressed outrage at the situation on his Instagram profile. “There is a campaign against me that creates a precedent and casts a shadow on the essence of artistic freedom,” writes the actor.
According to the Wirtualne Media portal, Bikovic has never directly supported or publicly criticized Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. However, after the war began, he posted an entry on the X website in which he presented the results of a survey regarding the support of world leaders. Vladimir Putin triumphed in the statistics. According to the website rp.pl, the actor starred in popular Russian films and television programs. These included the production of a well-known supporter of the war in Ukraine, Nikita Mikhalkov.
