The films ‘Creatura’, with six awards, and ‘Saben That’, with seven, have confirmed their role as favorites in the 16 Gaudí Awards in which they started as the highest nominees, with 15 and 13 nominations, which were followed by ‘20,000 species of bees’, with three awards.

‘Creatura’ has won the Gaudí for best film, as well as best direction for Elena Martinbest actor and supporting actress for Alex Brendemühl and Clara Segura, breakthrough performance for Clàudia Malagelada and editing.

‘They know that’ has won the awards for best leading actor for David Verdaguer, best leading actress for Carolina Yuste, best makeup-hairstyling, costumes, artistic direction, production direction and sound.

‘20,000 species of bees’, by Estibaliz Urresola Solaguren, has won the best non-Catalan speaking filma, best new direction and best photography.

The Oscar candidate for best animated filmn has won two Gaudí Awards: best animated film and best original music; this one, for the musician Alfonso de Vilallonga, who starred in one of the fun moments of the gala with his speech upon receiving the award.

Other award-winning films have been ‘Upon Entry’, with the original script for Juan Sebastián Vásquez and Alejandro Rojas, and ‘Un amor’, with the script adapted for Isabel Coixet and Laura Ferrero.

One of the emotional moments of the gala was that of Carme Elias collecting the award together with Claudia Pinto for best documentary for ‘Mentre seguirs tu, l’aquí i l’ara’ by Carme Elias’, in which he shows his fight against Alzheimer’s.

Another Oscar candidate, ‘The Snow Society’ by JABayona, he has won the only prize for which he was competing: best European film.

The director, director and screenwriter Rosa Vergés received the 2024 Gaudí Honor-Miquel Porter Award this Sunday in recognition of her career and asked young women: “I recommend that you dream.”
