It ignited the senses and gathered all of Poland in front of their TV sets. “Slave Isaura” returns to the screens!

When it was broadcast on Polish television, the streets were deserted. Everyone followed the fate of the delicate Isaura. Now the Brazilian soap opera “Slave Isaura” will return to TVP.

We survived the difficult years of the end of communism with her. “” gathered everyone who had TVs at home in the Polish People’s Republic in front of their TV sets. . Only those who really had to work during its broadcast did not watch “Slaves”. Isaura and Leoncio had almost royal status in Poland. Now a new generation will get to know them, because “Slave Isaura” will appear again on TVP. And this is already in February.

“Slave Isaura” returns to Polish television

Lucelia Santor and Rubens de Falco (Isaura and Leoncio) will appear on Polish TV screens again. This will be a unique opportunity for fans of “Slaves of Isaura” from years ago to remember those times. For new viewers, it will be a journey into the past – this is what we lived in the mid-1980s and there is no doubt that the opening of TVP to foreign production at that time accelerated the fall of communism in our country.

From February 17 on Saturday mornings at 8:40 a.m., Telewizja Polska on the TVP Kobiet channel will show two episodes of the 100-episode soap opera. Anyone who doesn’t get up will be able to watch a replay on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

“Isaura the Slave” quickly became a hit in our country, although no greater success was predicted for it. The kitschy, costume soap opera was by no means the pinnacle of cinematography at the time. However, it landed on very, very fertile ground. The mid-1980s were exceptionally difficult times.

We had a gray reality everywhere – in stores, outside the window, in politics. Isaura was like a breath of fresh air and hope that despite the mounting problems, we would ultimately emerge victorious – like a slave oppressed by everyone. No wonder that “Slave Isaura” was a hit mainly in the bloc of communist countries, which added a second and third meaning to a simple story.
