She has repeatedly spoken out on important social issues. The actress has no qualms about speaking out loud about things that many people are afraid to talk about for various reasons. In an interview with Plejada.pl, she was asked about her attitude to the church. The actress has already touched on this topic many times, but now it resonated a bit more strongly.
Renata Danewicz harshly about the church
In numerous previous interviews, Renata Dancewicz mentioned that she stopped going to church when she was a child. She quickly noticed that feminism, church and politics are completely different. In a conversation with Plejada, she returned to this topic.
Already as a little girl, I understood that I did not believe in God and did not want to be part of the Catholic Church. I saw how unfairly the Church treats women. They are supposed to be servants and that’s it. At the very top of the hierarchy are priests who have contact with God, then men, and at the very end are women, she said.
Renata Dancewicz has been calling herself a feminist and atheist for years. She supports people from the LGBT+ community and speaks willingly and often about women’s rights. This can sometimes still be harmful in Poland. The actress talked about how at one point her views influenced whether she would get a job:
Clear opinions harmed me in the advertising market. I once received an initial offer to take part in an advertisement, but when the director of the company producing this thing typed my name into the Internet and came up with feminism, abortion and atheism, she shook her head. Advertisers may like people like me privately, but they won’t give them a job – she said in an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza”.
