There are fewer and fewer advertisements on TV Republika, and therefore fewer sources of financing. As other companies do not want to have anything to do with the right-wing station, its management decided to fill advertising blocks with three-minute teleshopping spots. Wirtualnemedia.pl reports that they first appeared on the air on January 25 between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Reason? The station simply has nothing to put on airtime because it is already suffering from a lack of advertisers. The free market quickly verified the harmful content on the air of “Republika”, and the first examples are Jan Pietrzak’s statements about inviting refugees to concentration camps in Poland and comrade Marek Król to “chip” the newcomers, as was the case during World War II World.
“Teleshopping is a good source of earnings.” Enough for salaries?
How did the station’s president, Tomasz Sakiewicz, react to these problems? “Virtual media” managed to reach him, and the right-wing publicist shared information about these changes. “We moved the spots we have to prime time because they make better money then. And there is room in the schedule for housewives,” he said. He then added that “teleshopping is a good source of earnings.” Is it enough? We will learn about reports about problems with paying employee salaries, which we reported several years ago.
The escape continues. Wedel with a non-standard advertising spot
The great exodus from Republika TV was initiated by companies such as Ikea and mBank, followed by Żabka, Media Expert, Adamed and Kaufland. Now they will be joined by two more large companies – Wedel and Carrefour. However, they will remain until the end of January, because this is what the contracts they signed require.
However, they have been finding a way to “circumvent” the regulations for some time now. For some time now, instead of classic advertisements, a company producing sweets has been displaying a board with a special message to viewers. It informs about hate speech and opposes racist and xenophobic attitudes that have been and still are on the air.
