Mariusz Szczygie³ is one of the top Polish reporters. A journalist of “Gazeta Wyborcza” since 1990, a student of Hanna Krall, in the years 1995-2001 he hosted a television talk show “Na every topic”, which was groundbreaking in terms of touching on taboo topics. It was there that the word “orgasm” was first used on Polish television, and people with unpopular views told their stories.
Mariusz Szczygieł returns to television. He encountered a touching situation at the TVP headquarters
From then on, Szczygieł focused on his reporting work. “When I left television 23 years ago, I told myself that if I came back, it would never be to another show. I might come back as a gray-haired old man with some achievements. I really thought so,” he wrote on social media, then added that he didn’t expect that this maturity will come so quickly.
The writer attached a recording from outside the TVP building to the post. Szczygieł noted that he was invited to the new Polish Television for a business meeting. “For now, I am obliged to remain silent, but it is very likely that I will get involved in the mission of the new TVP,” the journalist reveals. This means that Szczygieł will most likely return to our TV screens soon or will co-create some format from behind the camera.
“I think I’ll kiss you for joy”
The journalist does not hide his joy at the changes taking place at TVP. He also emphasizes that he is not the only one. Apparently, when he entered the building, a security guard stopped him. “‘At last!’ – he said. ‘I think I’ll kiss you out of joy. I’ve already kissed Orłoś,'” says the reporter.
