Lech Wałêsa recently suffered from coronavirus, but everything indicates that he has regained strength. On Wednesday, January 24, he gave an interview to German television and posted a photo from the meeting on the Internet. The decor of his office attracted the attention of commentators.

Lech Wałęsa is a symbol of the fight for freedom. The former president is 80 years old, but he is still active, willingly taking part in political events and giving interviews. In an interview with the portal, he admitted that he does not consider political activity a pleasant memory, but rather sees it as something he had to do. – I am a man fulfilling the duties I have undertaken. (…) Many people told me that it was impossible to achieve something, but I was brought up in such a way that when I attempted something, I had to be the best. (…) This was my job, as a worker and as a politician, he explained.

A journalist from the German television ARD visited Lech Wałęsa in his office. We can see a photo from the meeting on Facebook, and what attracts attention is the wall against which the president was speaking.

Behind Lech Wałęsa we see patriotic and religious symbols. We will find Marshal Józef Piłsudski wearing a chestnut hat and the Last Supper. The office also featured the flags of Poland, the European Union and Ukraine. The whole is complemented by a huge cross hanging above the desk.
