This is the first edition of the Diversity València Festival to be held in the City of Arts and Sciences.
More than 30 international artists, including the winners of Eurovision Moonlight, Black Eyed Peas, Iggy Pop, Christina Aguilera, LP, Nicki Nicole, Zaz, Armin van Buuren and Martin Garrix, will be part of the first edition of the Diversity Valencia Festival to be held in the City of Arts and Sciences, in eastern Spain, from July 21 to 23, 2022.
According to sources from the new festival, the program will take place on three stages to “Give Valencia a window of access to international musical phenomena -both consolidated and emerging- that come together in a spectacular space”.
Furthermore, the festival aims to be “A place for social awareness and diversity as a transversal axis through music”, with a sign “Iconic, heterogeneous and intergenerational”.
On Thursday July 21st, to the successful Italian band Måneskin, winner of the last edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, they will join you “historical irreverent” like the godfather of punk, Iggy Pop. The same day the French Zaz will act, who, together with the bet of the Norwegian AURORA, they will be two of the “most powerful” female presences of that day, in which the singer and choreographer Owenn will also perform.
The German duo Milky Chance, viralized on the networks, or the young Norwegian group of Chilean origins Boy Pablo will put the part “More indie” Thursday, the day on which the third best will also perform DJ of the Mag Top 100 DJs: Armin van Buuren; maximum exponent of the trance sound.
On Friday women take center stage with Christina Aguilera, winner of several Grammy Awards, and Rosario Nicki nicole, with whom he has also collaborated on his latest video.
Representing the new musical generation, the festival will also feature a performance by “Afro-descendant women so strong” as Koffee (in which it will be his only performance in Spain), Jamaican singer, rapper and DJ winner of the Grammy for best reggae album. In addition, the Nigerian Kneka will perform.
The performance of the American Kelis – winner of the Brit Awards and nominated for two Grammy -, and the enigmatic atmosphere generated by the Iranian Sevdaliza – whose work made of electronics, punk, trip hop and avant-pop has been described as a “Gender change” – join the event on Friday together with the electronic show for which it has been named best three times in a row DJ of the world: Martin Garrix.
The psychedelic and funk blues of the band with New Zealand and Dutch roots MY BABY will be part, among other performances to be confirmed, on the second day of the festival.
The third day of Diversity Valencia Festival one of the strongest dishes of its first edition is saved: the performance of the acclaimed band Black Eyed Peas that, with a history of six Grammys under his arm and four platinum records in the United States, has regained strength from the Black Lives Matter movement.
They will be accompanied by the versatile DJ and digital artist Don Diablo, to which will be added the soul of Rag’n’Bone Man and the indie rock of the Canadian band Mother Mother. Also the expected return to the stages of Cupido, the musical project of the well-known Pimp Flaco and the Canarian indie band Solo Astra.
In its commitment to artists with social commitment, it will include the African-American singer Todrick Hall and New York songwriter and singer LP.
The new confirmations will be announced as of December 20 and day passes and tickets will go on sale this Friday. Day tickets start at a price of 70 euros and tickets can be purchased from 140 euros. (I)
