Is there an unpleasant smell coming from your washing machine? We come to help! Here are three very cheap and popular methods that usually prove effective in such cases.

Is there an unpleasant smell coming from your washing machine? This is a clear sign that it’s time to clean it. To keep your laundry and washing machine smelling fresh, first of all, wash it “empty” regularly, at least once a month. What is this method? We explain.

Unpleasant smell from the washing machine? Do it and you won’t regret it

One of the most popular and simplest methods involves the use of baking soda. In the first step, clean the laundry container thoroughly. In the second one, pour baking soda into the powder compartment. Importantly, it should fill the chamber approximately halfway. Then we set the empty washing machine to a full washing cycle. The temperature should be as high as possible.

Another interesting method was recently shared by Paulina Czajka on her Instagram profile. As he advises, we need to put two lemon halves with a bit of toothpaste into the drum. Then add baking soda (to the drum and to the detergent drawer). And finally, we set the cycle to 90 degrees. You can see the whole thing in the video below:

Citric acid will also help

Another popular and effective method involves the use of citric acid. Place it in the powder container – approximately up to 1/3 of the height of the compartment. Then we set the full washing cycle to the highest possible temperature. It is also worth noting that the key to success in this case is systematicity. It is best to clean your washing machine once a month. This will protect the device against limescale, fungi and unpleasant odors.
