What can you eat on Fat Thursday? Cheese donuts will be perfect
Preparing cheese donuts is extremely quick and, and certainly takes less time than baking homemade donuts or wafers. You most likely already have the necessary ingredients at home. What will you need to prepare cheese dumplings?
- 3 cups of wheat flour;
- 3 tablespoons of sugar or a substitute, e.g. erythritol;
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder;
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda;
- 250 g of white cheese;
- 1 egg;
- 2 yolks;
- 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt or 18% cream.
Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl and then add the cheese, egg, yolks and yogurt or cream. Knead them vigorously into an elastic ball. Roll them out into a 1 cm cake. Cut out a shape with a glass and make a small hole in its center with the glass to create something that will resemble a donut shape. Bake the ready dumplings in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutes. After cooling, serve sprinkled with powdered sugar or a powdered substitute, e.g. erythritol.
