A week has passed since Sofia Vergara’s interview with Pablo Motos which caused controversy and grabbed headlines in the Spanish and international press. The protagonist of “Griselde” went to promote her new Netflix series, and instead ended up being attacked by the 58-year-old Valencian with questions and comments that she considered inappropriate.

At the time, several media outlets described the meeting as awkward because of some of Pablo Motos’ questions to the woman from Barranquilla, such as her English pronunciation or the tone of her hair.

Sofia Vergara continued her media tour, and the topic was still the story of the media and social networks. Meanwhile, Pablo Motos remained silent throughout, believing that the interview had succeeded, until Wednesday, January 17, when he found himself cornered by a phrase from Antonio Resines.

What did Pablo Motos say about Sofia Vergara’s interview?

“What did you do to this poor woman?”, asked the Spanish actor for a few minutes in the show “El Hormiguero”, where he was a guest of Jorge Sanz.

And, as Lecturas remembers, Sofía Vergara countered every “inappropriate” comment by Pablo Motos and published responses, one more harsh than the other, to defend herself against what suddenly became like an attack.

Pablo Motos normally does not respond to those controversies in which his name is the protagonist, but this time he had no choice and then gave his explanation of what happened with Sofia Vergara.

To justify his attitude towards the actress ““Modern Family” He said that it is about a “pact, something that is still not very credible in the public eye.

“I will tell everything, because I must be the only one in the world, because there must have been in the world, who did not find out. I will explain the Sofia Vergara controversy. Sofía Vergara comes, we connected really well and then I say to her: ‘Sofía, I saw your interview with Kevin Hart where you wouldn’t let him walk and you were hesitating the whole time and he was hesitating with you. If we could pretend that we are two old friends, and you hesitate and I hesitate… He says, of course we hesitate. We went here, we made a hell of a program. We had a great time, you just have to watch the program,” explained host El Hormiguera to the audience and his guests Antonio Resines and Jorge Sanz.

Then Pablo Motos added that the program with Sofía Vergara speaks for itself, and the number of viewers who connected with the space guarantees its success.

“If you watch the program, you can see that we are having a good time, the audience is laughing, and the next day we have 5 million and one hundred thousand viewers. That’s all I can say,” he continued about, in his opinion, the best program of the season.

“I normally try not to read anything they say about me, but apparently the controversy has reached Argentina as well,” said Pablo Motos before Antonio Resinas explained to him what “everyone” believes happened, that it bothers the actress.

“Everyone here thought that I (Sofía Vergara) hesitated because you were bothering her, a lot of people. “Everyone thinks there was a problem,” Resines repeated in an interview that was “uncomfortable” for many.

“I’m very sorry for all the people I upset because of something that never happened,” Pablo Motos concluded, although his story does not seem credible on social media.

On social networks, they do not believe in the justification of Pablo Motos

Reactions soon appeared on El Hormiguer’s X account and while some believed Pablo Motos’ story, others criticized him for giving an explanation after ordering the program’s video to be deleted.

“Hahaha damage control after humiliation hey kid”; “Everything is ready, but hurry up and delete the clips from the Internet”; “That’s why you ordered all videos of “X” to be deleted because you blew it”; “You don’t even believe”; “Now it turns out that it was planned, and that the idea was also about motorcycles”; “It’s interesting that Pablo’s pronunciation is similar to Rubiales’s for a kiss without consent,” are some of the comments read on El Hormiguera’s account.
