“He hasn’t learned to tie a tie yet. Seeing him struggle makes me feel sad”

Carnival is the time that thousands, if not millions, of Poles wait for. During the first few weeks of the year, we can enjoy numerous parties and balls. It’s an opportunity to dance, eat and meet friends in different circumstances than usual. It’s also a perfect time to get dressed up. Much to the dissatisfaction of a certain group of people.

It is said that traditionally women pay more attention to appearance. Every day we dress in a more subdued way, so a carnival ball is a perfect opportunity to really go crazy. Sparkly dresses, high heels, makeup and hairstyles done by professionals… All this dressing up is something that many women absolutely love. Which very often cannot be said about men.

“Even if you have to wear smart casual clothes somewhere, I have a problem”

My husband always agrees when I suggest going to the prom. First he says that he would like to get away from home, and sometimes you can even feel a note of excitement in his head. And when that day comes and it’s time to start getting ready, ironing the shirt, taking out that unfortunate stiff jacket, his face is so sour that my good mood literally goes to waste.

– said Ola, our interlocutor. Justyna has similar experiences with her other half. Her husband is equally “eager” to dress up for any event. And there’s no point in even starting the topic of the carnival party.

My husband said that our wedding was one of those few events in his life for which he would dress up in a suit. Tying a tie? No chance! The only thing he accepts is a shirt, but he still wears it on a really big occasion. And if I suggested going to a carnival ball, he would probably laugh at me. Totally not his vibe. He likes T-shirts and jeans.

– We don’t go to parties very often where you have to be as smart as a guard on Corpus Christi, but even if you have to wear smart casual clothes somewhere, I have a problem – says Asia. – Either he thinks that the sleeves of the sweater are too short, or he doesn’t know whether he should wear a shirt or whether a T-shirt and a sweater will be enough, or he will get dressed and just before leaving, he will realize that he is dressed in all green, for example, and he has to put on change clothes or decides that it looks like a tree (green top, brown bottom) and has to change clothes too. Putting on a jacket or a suit in general is also a challenge, because he also complains that everything is too small…

Carnival ball? Bright! Tie? Blah!

It turns out that tying ties is a problem for many guys. It’s both about the way it’s done and the fact of having a “leash” around your neck – as Iga’s partner puts it. According to him – and we dare to assume that other anti-fans of this accessory also – the tie “restricts movement, dangles annoyingly and even falls into the plate while eating.”

– I’m pissed at my boyfriend because we’ve been to dozens of events (balls, weddings, etc.) and he hasn’t learned how to tie a tie yet. When I see him struggling, I don’t want to live anymore – Iga laughed and added: – I know I could help him and learn to tie him up myself, but don’t exaggerate. He just needs to wash and get dressed. And I still have make-up, hairstyles… I don’t have time for ties. And he’s not a child, it’s time to grow up.

Interestingly, even those who wear ties often encounter certain difficulties. It seems that tying this accessory is not particularly complicated. That’s easy to say to those who have never done it. Because the knot itself is one thing, the tie must be tied evenly and its tip should be at the right height.

– We are the life of the party and we love weddings, balls and parties. My guy likes to wear a suit or a jacket and trousers with a crease, another interlocutor, Marta, told us.

But the best thing is that he is elegant, but he doesn’t know how to tie a tie! It often happens that when he buys a new one, he forgets about it, and when he wants to put it on before going out, he suddenly remembers that the tie is not tied. Then it’s time to ride! Of course, either to the store where he bought it, or to his friends or dad.

– she added.
