Customers using the services of the energy company Energa Obrót, belonging to the ORLEN group, began to find information about new price lists in their mailboxes. The changes would come into force from January 2024. Some people raised their eyebrows because the increases in the standard price list reach up to PLN 1,225 gross per kWh. The currently ruling coalition has maintained the price freeze until June 2024 at PLN 0.5092 gross per kWh. So why did customers receive information about the increases? Artur Dembny, an energy expert and Veola employee, says he received a notice that fees will be increased by 200% from 2024. — With a sales price of PLN 1.2250/kWh, which is so because it has just been discounted. – This letter is not addressed to people who use URE tariffs – explains Energa. Consumers who use prices approved by the Energy Regulatory Office will not be affected by any increase, but the letter may be misunderstood. What is this all about? There is a chance that a customer who receives information about price increases will want to change the supplier or contract, and therefore switch to a commercial offer where the energy price freeze does not apply.
