Przystanek Woodstock is one of the largest festivals in Poland. In 2017, the event changed its name to Festival, and two years later it left Kostrzyn nad Odrą, where the event had been organized since 2004. Since then, fans of the previous location have been asking from time to time whether a return to Kostrzyn will ever be possible. Today we know that this will not happen.
Kostrzyn nad Odrą sells the area of the former Przystanek Woodstock
There is a lack of land for further investments in Kostrzyn nad Odrą. The Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone has almost 300 hectares of land, and soon in the area of the estate. Two large companies will be established in Drzewice – logistics and packaging production. “This means that of the approximately 60 hectares available here, not much will remain” – gazetalubuska.pl.
“According to our information, one of these companies will handle about 80 trucks a day. That’s why we are in such a hurry to build a new road, because Reja and Asfaltowa streets will not be able to withstand such truck traffic, and the construction of new plants will start soon,” he explains. However, the mayor emphasizes that if the city received an attractive offer from an investor, Kostrzyn would have a problem with selecting a location for investment. “There’s simply a shortage of plots,” explains the mayor.
That is why the area where Przystanek Woodstock took place was put up for sale. The starting price for the tender offered by the city is PLN 28 million. The area will be intended for production and service development and will start in the place where the Big Stage, known to fans of the event, stood for years. Additionally, the city plans to build a road in the Woodstock area that will facilitate transport to the new development.
Pol’and’Rock Festival 2024. Where and when will the event take place?
The 30th edition of Pol’and’Rock Festival will take place on August 1-3, 2024. Many artists from both Poland and abroad will perform at the anniversary event. Currently, the line-up includes Motionless in White, Electric Callboy and CelKilt. The Most Beautiful Festival in the World will once again take place at the Czaplinek-Broczyno airport.
