On the night of January 15-16, 2024, the 75th prestigious awards ceremony took place, during which the undoubted successes of productions such as “Sukcesja”, “The Bear” and “Awantura” were celebrated. Although just before the gala one of the main favorites to win in several categories was the Netflix hit “Better Call Saul”, its creators once again had to play it safe and left the red carpet, suffering a dismal defeat.
The “Breaking Bad” prequel is making a splash on Netflix. What is the plot of the series about?
There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the series created by Vince Gilligan is one of the best in recent years. The action of “Better Call Saul” precedes the events of the equally hit film, of which it is a prequel, and focuses on the fate of Jimmy McGill (played by Bob Odenkirk). A young lawyer runs his office, but in reality he can barely make ends meet. Although he is successful, he loses his license to practice his profession for a year due to the use of illegal methods.
Then he adopts the pseudonym Saul Goodman and starts working as a prepaid card seller, entering the criminal world, because his main target are, among others, drug dealers. When he returns to his previous position, he decides to continue operating using false information. This way, former clients easily find him and turn to him for help.
Is ‘Better Call Saul’ the biggest loser in Emmy history? Despite many nominations, he did not receive a statuette
The sixth and final season of “Better Call Saul” premiered in 2022, which means that this year was the last chance for its creators to win the award. Although almost everyone expected it to be like never before, unfortunately it ended like always. Despite receiving another 7 nominations, including: for the best actors or the best drama series, in the final results of the production, not a single statuette was awarded. In total, he has received 53 nominations so far, but none of them resulted in a statuette.
