TV Republika lived “under the drip” of the ruling party for years, and yet we often reported on the website about the station’s problems with financial liquidity. Now that the times of “Byzantium” have ended irrevocably, television management should care even more about maintaining advertisers. However, ending hate sessions turns out to be stronger…You can read more information about Polish media on the home page.
Although after a sudden series of changes in Polish Television, the right-wing station recorded a significant increase in viewership, according to the website virtualmedia.pl, advertising revenues decreased. Why? It’s not hard to guess. This is the result of controversial words, including: satirist Jan Pietrzak or the last secretary of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party, Marek Król, about immigrants. It turns out that not all companies that have declared to break off cooperation with TV Republika can do so with immediate effect.
Polsat took the floor. Financial penalties for ad withdrawal
The majority of enterprises purchase advertising time in the station in a broader package offered by Polsat Media. Moreover, they were purchased through media houses, not directly by advertisers. In recent days, a press release from Zygmunt Solorz-Żak’s “empire” appeared. Warnings about financial penalties are sent to media houses representing these companies.

More words that have nothing to do with product placement gradually appear on the board with a blue background.
Hate speech is “(…) any form of expression that disseminates, incites, propagates or justifies racial hatred, xenophobia, anti-Semitism or other forms of hatred based on intolerance, including intolerance expressed in the form of aggressive nationalism or ethnocentrism, discrimination or hostility towards minorities, migrants or people from migrant communities”*.

We do not accuse the management of TV Republika of even a hint of self-reflection, so the conclusions are obvious. Advertisers cleverly decided to boycott the station, putting PR interests ahead of profits. How long will such boards remain on the station’s air? Probably until the end of the contract of individual companies, unless there is an unexpected change among “Republika” employees. However, we find this hard to believe.
