TV Republika is struggling with the severe consequences of Jan Pietrzak’s statement about placing migrants in barracks of former German concentration camps in Poland. Due to this, companies such as IKEA, Adamed Pharma, mBank, Provident, Tarczyński, Pyszne.pl, Żabka Polska, Media Expert, Carrefour and Kaufland have already withdrawn their spots from the station. XTB and STS will soon join this group. However, Delikatesy Centrum, Jula, Skoda, Orlen and pharmacy products are still in the game.
Advertisers are withdrawing from TV Republika. Sakiewicz is optimistic
And although the length and frequency of displaying the mentioned blocks have been clearly reduced, Tomasz Sakiewicz assures that this is not related to the resignation of a large group of advertisers. “We made the decision to shorten advertising blocks much earlier, because earlier, longer blocks were not well received by viewers… Long blocks are not good for advertisers or viewers. I guess it’s better to have higher prices than a lot of ads, you always have to reach a compromise here” – said Sakiewicz in an interview with Wirtualne Media.
The head of the station also believes that many companies have temporarily withdrawn from broadcasting spots on Republika. “Many customers change their strategy for a while, they want to wait and will come back. It is impossible to ignore 10-12 million people in advertising campaigns,” he said. When asked about the gap left by old advertisers, Sakiewicz said that new ones have already taken their place: “A large number of advertisers have not withdrawn, some are replacing others.”
